Nearly a quarter of new homes now built in final stages of development in Shinfield

Work is progressing well at a Bovis Homes and Linden Homes location in Shinfield, where nearly a quarter of the homes in the final two phases of the development have now been completed.

The housebuilders, which are both part of Vistry Group, are building a total of 672 new homes at Shinfield Meadows, including 125 affordable homes available through rent or shared ownership.

The latest stages of the project total 204 homes, with Bovis Homes delivering 125 properties and Linden Homes 79 properties. So far, 46 of these homes are now built and occupied by their new residents and construction is on track to be finished next year.

Alix Laflin, marketing manager at Vistry Thames Valley, said: “We are nearing a notable milestone in the latest phases at Shinfield Meadows with nearly a quarter of the homes now completed and people moved in. As construction progresses apace, we have been able to welcome new residents onto what is already an established neighbourhood.

“This is a very popular location which has been evidenced by the consistently strong sales we have experienced at both the Bovis Homes and Linden Homes developments. This high level of interest has seen us already sell 69 of the 167 private homes for sale within these phases.

“This is the final stage of construction at this dual development so we would encourage anyone who is thinking of making a move to this lovely, thriving village to contact our sales team as soon as they can. The location is ideal as it offers a quiet, rural life in the Berkshire countryside yet is only five miles from the host of shops, bars and restaurants of Reading town centre.

“Moreover, people who need to commute to London are well served because the railway station at Reading provides regular services, which get passengers into Paddington in less than half an hour. The excellent road links mean drivers can use the nearby A33 to link to junction 11 on the M4, with the M3 just 30 minutes away.”

Vistry started construction started at Shinfield Meadows in 2017, with work due to be completed in 2024.

There is currently a choice of two and four-bedroom Linden Homes properties available to reserve at Langley Mead at Shinfield Meadows, with prices starting at £399,000, while there’s a selection of four and five-bedroom properties for sale at Shinfield Meadows under the Bovis Homes brand, priced from £595,000.
