Housebuilder wins national award for Great Yeldham development
A housebuilder has won a prestigious national award for its development in Great Yeldham.
Strawberry Fields, which is being delivered by Linden Homes, was named Development of the Year for the South region in the 51 to 100 units category at the 2020 Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards.
The annual awards are held by the building warranty provider to recognise the best UK developments covered by its schemes.
Linden Homes, which is part of the Vistry Group, is building a total of 60 homes at Strawberry Fields on the former Hunnable Industrial Estate in the village.
Rob Church, Managing Director of Linden Homes Eastern, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win this very prestigious award. The Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards are there to recognise the best of the best throughout the country so to be recognised in this way is a real honour.
“The award has been granted for outstanding quality throughout the site and is testament to the fact that the team at Strawberry Fields are doing a brilliant job. The judges consider a range of criteria, including the standard of site management and quality of workmanship.
“Awards representatives visit all sites and conduct a rigorous examination of health and safety standards, site tidiness and general staff co-operation. This award confirms that Linden Homes is a top-quality housebuilder which adheres to the highest of standards.”
Although Premier Guarantee was unable to stage its usual prizegiving ceremony, representatives from the company attended Strawberry Fields to present the award to the site team in person.
The awards organisers also arranged for Cacciatores Pizza, an Essex-based firm serving food made according to traditional Sicilian recipes, to visit the site and hand out pizza to the staff.

Rob said: “It was a nice gesture for Premier Guarantee to pay for Cacciatores Pizza to visit the site and for them to attend to present the certificate to the team. The pizza was delicious and much appreciated by everyone on site.”
The developer, which started work on the 5.4-acre site in June 2019, is delivering a mix of one to five-bedroom properties, with 36 for private sale and 24 for affordable rent or shared ownership. The final homes are due to be completed this winter.
