Work at Bellway’s Harvard Place development in Earls Colne is nearing the final stages, with some of the final homes now on sale. All but 12 of the 54 homes being built for sale at the site have been purchased since the first properties were released onto the market in November 2020.

The development, off Station Road, was named in honour of the Harvard Warbird aircraft, a former Second World War RAF pilot trainer aircraft which is now used by nearby Earls Colne Airfield to provide flying experiences.

Bellway is delivering a total of 90 homes at Harvard Place, including 36 homes provided as affordable housing, made available for local people through shared ownership or rent. Construction work is progressing well and is expected to conclude at the end of this year.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: “We’re now getting to the final chances to buy a new-build home at Harvard Place. Residents who’ve already moved here love the relative privacy of this desirable location, tucked away in the countryside and surrounded by a woodland border, yet within walking distance of the amenities offered in the picturesque village of Earls Colne and with Hyperoptic and BT broadband to all homes.

“Although our two and three-bedroom properties have now been sold, we still have a number of four-bedroom properties available – perfect for families and those who may benefit from extra rooms – which all come with a garage. The three-bedroom showhome will be released for sale later in the year. We also have a choice of helpful schemes available to make moving easier and more straightforward for customers with a property to sell.”

Bellway’s Part Exchange and Express Mover schemes are both available at Harvard Place. Part Exchange sees Bellway buy the customer’s current home, which means they have no estate agent fees to pay and can stay in their old place until their new one is ready to move into, depending on the build stage.

With Express Mover, meanwhile, Bellway will work with an estate agent to sell the customer’s home as quickly as possible – and also pick up the agent’s fee.

Jenny added: “Anybody who may be interested in finding their new home at Harvard Place is encouraged to get in touch with the sales team at the earliest opportunity, as we look to bring to a close what has been a well-considered and valuable addition to available housing in this area.”

Alongside providing new homes, Bellway is investing more than £530,000 in the local and economy and infrastructure projects, including £379,151 for local education, £85,118 towards sports facilities at Earls Colne Recreation Club, £57,169 towards local play spaces, £10,000 towards healthcare and £2,701 for allotments.”

There’s currently a choice of four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Harvard Place, with prices starting from £474,995.

With the number of first-time buyers doubling in the past year according to Barclays, it’s timely that Latimer Homes is preparing to launch The Bowery in West Ealing. Launching on Saturday 21st May and comprising 60 one, two and three-bedroom shared ownership apartments, the development presents an opportunity for those wanting to step onto the property ladder in an affordable, recently regenerated, pocket of west London.

Prices for a one-bedroom apartment start from £138,900 for a 30% share and require a £6,945 deposit whilst prices for a two-bedroom apartment start from £129,500 for a 25% share and require a £6,475 deposit. Offering a brilliant combination of attractive green spaces, vibrant bars and restaurants, and excellent transport connections, The Bowery is the ideal option for first-time buyers.

Buyers who choose to make The Bowery their home will be well placed to enjoy the benefits of Ealing’s programme of regeneration, at a time when local areas are so important to our everyday lives.

Krete Luca, Sales Director at Latimer, part of the Clarion Housing Group, comments: “For those eager to find an affordable home with a London postcode, The Bowery is great contender. The combination of regeneration prospects, which include the arrival of Crossrail, and new affordable homes place this development firmly on the first-time buyer map. Everything’s in place for establishing a new community at The Bowery and the new apartments are finished to the impeccable standard Latimer Homes has become known for. The development’s location truly offers the best of both worlds within the area, placing residents on the doorstep of a range of amenities as well as stunning green spaces. This is a great time to move to West Ealing and be part of a vibrant neighbourhood.”

Northfields High Street, which features a range of independent interior and coffee shops, is also a short walk from the development and home to Northfields’ tube station.

However, what really sets The Bowery apart is its proximity to wonderful green spaces. With 3,300 acres of green space, Ealing is one of London’s greenest boroughs and The Bowery is perfectly positioned to reap the health and well-being benefits this provides. The development faces onto a charming allotment and is just a 10-minute walk from Walpole Park, the Grade II Listed jewel in Ealing’s crown, boasting a beautiful ornamental lake as well as Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery. A little further afield lies Lammas Park, a 25-acre open green space with a variety of sports facilities.

The Bowery features landscaped gardens and a range of community facilities including a car club and potential space for meetings and events. For connections further afield, home-movers to The Bowery can also enjoy the benefits of the long-awaited Crossrail service, which is scheduled to start running from Ealing Broadway Station in summer 2022. The new service will be transformative for the area, putting a range of locations across the capital within easy reach of Ealing Broadway, including Bond Street in just 11-minutes and Canary Wharf in 25-minutes. Existing commuter links are also excellent, with West Ealing train station situated a 10- minute walk from the development, taking buyers to London Paddington in just 13-minutes.

Prices for a one-bedroom apartment at The Bowery start from £138,900 for a 30% share of the full market value of £463,000. Prices for a two-bedroom apartment at The Bowery start from £129,500 for a 25% share of the full market value of £518,000.

All of the homes at a new development in Romsey have now been built and sold. Bellway has delivered 73 new homes at Meadow View, which is located off Cupernham Lane in the Hampshire town, including 44 houses for private sale and 29 affordable homes for local people through rent or shared ownership.

With all the houses on the site now complete, the final residents to move in are now settling into their new homes.

Kim Caldwell, Sales Director for Bellway Wessex, said: “Meadow View has proved to be an incredibly popular development with strong demand for the new homes right from the start, reflecting the need for new housing in the area.

“There was a high level of interest in the 63 new properties we previously delivered at our neighbouring Oxlease Meadows development, and this carried on through into Meadow View.

“The combination of both developments has seen Bellway deliver a total of 136 new homes to Romsey. As the final residents move into Meadow View, it is good to see that a brand-new neighbourhood, like the one at Oxlease Meadows, is taking shape.”

As part of the planning agreement for Meadow View, Bellway is contributing £145,390 for improvements at Romsey Primary School and £94,900 towards the New Forest Special Protection Area. £900,000 was also paid through the Community Infrastructure Levy, which can be used by the Council towards a wide range of local improvements.

The developer also contributed £1.3 million towards the upkeep of Fishlake Meadows Nature Reserve, as well as £300,000 towards local education and £369,000 towards roads, as part of the planning agreement for Oxlease Meadows.

Kim said: “These two developments have seen Bellway not only deliver more than 100 new homes to Romsey but contribute a total of £2.2 million to help ensure that local infrastructure and facilities evolve with the new developments.

“Much of the contribution is also to help protect and preserve the treasured Fishlake Meadows Nature Reserve, which has proved to be a big attraction for homebuyers who like the fact that they can explore the countryside on their doorstep.

“This significant level of investment is part of Bellway’s commitment to having a positive impact on the environment and to creating a lasting legacy in the local area.”
