Rotpunkt, award-winning designer and manufacturer of climate friendly German Kitchen furniture, is pleased to report a consistently healthy turnover of 100 million EUR in 2023, along with new geographical and commercial growth markets, and more value per kitchen for the retailer following the company’s latest finance report at year end…

Healthy annual turnover: As the KBB market continues to navigate the UK economy, significant environmental change, and associated manufacturing costs, Rotpunkt Küchen has achieved a healthy turnover of 100 million EUR for two consecutive years. Andreas Wagner and Heinz-Jürgen Meyer, Managing Partners at Rotpunkt Küchen explain, “In view of the extremely difficult market conditions that followed the enhanced demand of COVID-19, this is a very satisfactory result.” Sven Herden, Managing Director of Sales & Marketing agrees and adds, “Of course we would like to achieve more growth in turnover but, given the widely reported economic downturn and inflation, I feel these results are realistic for the beginning of the year.” In fact, the company’s turnover has steadily risen over the last 5-10 years, seeing an increase of over 35 million euros when compared to 2018 figures at 65 million EUR.

More value per kitchen: Helping to create a positive financial trend among its network of UK retailers, Rotpunkt is pleased to report that its range of furniture offers more value per kitchen and higher sales commission. Although this rise is not reflected in the volume of cabinets produced last year, retailers are reportedly selling more Rotpunkt furniture and enjoying greater margins and planning options that go beyond the kitchen space. Emphasising the company’s core philosophy where the home represents the ‘centre of life’ for many, Rotpunkt design and make furniture for the kitchen, utility, laundry room, and walk-in dressing room to furnish the entire home and allow customers to compare or contrast with the cabinetry, worktops, handles, and integrated lighting.

Modernisation vs. Employee gains: The continued rise in materials and energy prices continued to challenge the company’s business operations in 2023. However, Rotpunkt was able to limit these amplified costs with moderate price adjustments so it could maintain its standing as a strong multi-million-pound company with positive earnings and a continued path to modernisation. With continued investment in a new Warehousing & Logistics building, and also in machinery, logistics, its vehicle fleet, the digitalisation of production and business processes, as well as social issues for the Rotpunkt workforce. In December 2023, the company is proud to employ a broad mix of 364 men and women at each site in Bünde and Preußisch Oldendorf, and maintain its important reputation as an employer of choice in the region.

Growth in France: Generating the majority of sales from countries in western Europe, Rotpunkt is pleased to report its export ratio remains at 80%. The Dutch market continues to be a strong supplier of Rotpunkt furniture with sales generating the same results as last year, and the same applies to the Scandinavian market, which is heavily supporting the brand within the contracts market. Interestingly, France emerges as the biggest growth area for Rotpunkt, demonstrating extremely high growth, and this is bolstered by new developments in Austria and Switzerland.

Commitment to the British Isles: From Great Britain to the Channel Islands, business across the British Isles has been faced with particularly high inflation rates, when compared to the rest of Europe and these increases have slowed the level of growth in the UK. In response, Rotpunkt will invest in its sales and development team to promote a greater level of engagement from new and existing customers in the British Isles. Given that the UK is regarded as one of the largest markets in Europeit seems only logical to accelerate investment across these sales territories. For instance, in January 2024 Rotpunkt UK appointed John McWhinnie, an experienced sales representative to oversee customers in the north of the British Isles and create new sales opportunities across northern England and Scotland.

Trade show benefits: Part of the Küchenmeile, Hausmesse, the in-house exhibition held annually in September is the most important event of the year for Rotpunkt, and the company will continue to do its part to further strengthen global relations for both brand and industry following each Küchenmeile. Additionally, other trade shows across Europe such as kbb Birmingham (March 2024), Esprit Meubles in Paris (November 2024) and Kitchen Living Trends in Salzburg (May 2025) will allow Rotpunkt to present its products in a country-specific manner and be supported by local sales teams to create new contacts and strengthen ongoing partnerships.

2024 outlook: Collectively, the senior management team says, “The market is tough right now and in the short term, forecasts show this financial year won’t get any easier. However, we can still offer a positive outlook as 2024 has just begun and currently, there is a good build-up of orders, so we are confident over the coming months.” Sven Herden adds, “At the moment, it is important to maintain Rotpunkt’s good economic position, strengthen existing partnerships and take a closer look at choice suppliers and new business connections. However, risk assessments of this kind are not exclusive to Rotpunkt, and retailers are also looking closely at who they can rely on.”

Rotpunkt Launches New Pavilo Shaker-Style Modern Door https://www.padmagazine.co.uk/residential/rotpunkt-launches-new-pavilo-shaker-style-modern-door/ Mon, 18 Jul 2022 07:56:00 +0000 https://padmagazine.co.uk/?p=17396 Rotpunkt, award winning designer and leading manufacturer of climate friendly German Kitchen furniture introduce a new and timeless…]]>

Rotpunkt, award winning designer and leading manufacturer of climate friendly German Kitchen furniture introduce a new and timeless version of the classic Shaker-style door with the launch of Pavilo: a modern interpretation of the popular Shaker furniture design movement.

Designed with a modern cassette front that is rounded on the inside and out, Pavilo is available in all matt lacquer finishes including the new Just Grey colour option and bestselling Black, Carbon, Lava, Umbra and Daylight Grey. Beautiful and practical, this subtle door is designed to not only create a soft and harmonious look, but also reduce the number of surfaces to help minimise the accumulation of unwanted dirt, dust, grease and debris synonymous with kitchen living.

Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt says, “Shaker-style interiors are ultra-versatile, as they effortlessly ride the line between traditional and contemporary ideas. Designed to evolve the traditional look of a timber in frame kitchen and recreate 18th century design elements so they can sit in the modern home, Pavilo gives a new dimension to the constantly evolving industrial-style kitchen, which is in keeping with today’s modern home and lifestyle.”

When combined with natural timber elements like the new Memory RI vertical door in New Forest Oak, Pavilo brings a fresh new energy to the hybrid kitchen space, which seemingly now is both classic and contemporary. Added to that, “Big ticket items like the kitchen are helping UK homeowners to reduce their environmental impact and live greener lifestyles. Pavilo answers the call for climate-friendly kitchen design, constructed from our Greenline BioBoard Gen2, which is a sustainable chipboard that consists of up to 90% recycled wood” adds Matt.

The Pavilo kitchen concept features the following NEW innovations by Rotpunkt:

Pavilo: Blending classic style with contemporary comfort, this new Shaker-style door is designed with a modern cassette front with rounded edges inside and out. Available in all 52 matt lacquer colours, Pavilo is the perfect foundation to get creative with the hardware too, just like the new 499 Black T-bar style knob handle shown.

Just Grey: This new colour is 1 of 14 shades of grey by Rotpunkt, and it works harmoniously with timber finishes like the pictured wood panelling, which is set within the island unit. Behind, the wet area is framed by two designed-in tall units with a mixture of open and closed storage and built-in appliances to create the ultimate compact cook zone.

Memory RI: Bringing the tactile warmth of timber into the kitchen, this new door is designed with a contemporary reeded structure with high-definition vertical grooves. Available in three oak finishes, matt black and a ready to paint option, the textured effect of Memory helps emphasise the generous overhead wall units to make the back wall feel spacious, despite its small footprint.

Smart-ready LED lighting: A modern and minimalist pendant light over the island brings illumination to this calming working space as it can be hung up to 1450mm from the ceiling. Available in 1200mm and 1500mm lengths to suit your style, now home chefs can enjoy the latest in smart-enabled kitchen lighting and control it using a digital assistant on a tablet or smartphone for the ultimate in hands-free living.

Climate friendly: All Rotpunkt furniture is designed and created under the company’s new ‘Together to zero’ climate strategy to reduce carbon emissions at every stage of manufacture. The Pavilo door is crafted from Greenline BioBoard Gen2, the sustainable, green and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional chipboards, which consists of up to 90% recycled wood without sacrificing on quality. It is further enriched by the new Memory RI door, an FSC® Certified vertical groove door that carries the mark of responsible forestry.

Rotpunkt award-winning designer and manufacturer of climate friendly German Kitchen furniture for the contemporary home, is delighted to report a strong upward trend in UK sales as the KBB sector bounced back at Europe’s biggest trade fair, KBB Birmingham after a bumpy ride for the British market.

Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt, Matt Phillips says “We had a very positive experience at the show after two years dominated by market volatility in the wake of Brexit and the pandemic. Now the situation has completely changed course and we have full confidence that UK consumers are keen to invest in their homes once more. In fact, we anticipate significant sales in the residential and the contracts sector as we prepare to enter a new fiscal year with our expanding network of retailers, sales managers and new collaborative climate strategy, Together to Zero, in partnership with MyClimate.org. The UK is a key sales territory for Rotpunkt, second only to Holland, as the company’s main export market. This is definitely evident as the company enjoys its highest average value transactions in the UK, with many consumers appreciating our strategic positioning for growing upper mid-level kitchen design in the marketplace.”

Following four extremely busy days at KBB Birmingham, the Rotpunkt team had a great response to the exciting new launches showcased on its 130 sq.m stand. With four state-of-the-art fully interactive kitchen displays and two laundry storage solutions, KBB professionals could fully explore the iconic ‘power of possibilities’ in eco-luxe furniture by Rotpunkt.

Highlights included the UK launch of new Fenix colours, a new range of Memory RI door fronts, the latest contemporary finishes in Dark Grey Steel and Split-Line in split oak and the British debut of Blum’s Revego pocket door system. Interestingly, Rotpunkt was the first manufacturer to show this game-changing pocket door mechanism in the UK, integrating the solution with its new Fenix Green & Sherwood Flamed wood-effect full height kitchen doors. The unique one-touch door system for single and double door applications is impressive, not least thanks to its fully integrated technology and ease of integration into the kitchen layout or furniture units. The smart fixed-width cabinet solution can also be easily incorporated into plans featuring standard cabinets and is available pre-assembled.

The Fenix Green super matt finish in combination with Sherwood Flamed, was shown on the popular Zerox furniture and benefits include an easy clean surface that is antibacterial, anti-fingerprint, high chemical resistance, high UV resistance with a premium super matt finish. Carcass is available in 78cm and extra-tall 91cm heights, with kitchen doors in standard and extra-tall 2.4m heights featuring luxury interior shelves with metal edging for a refined industrial style.

We are back and ready to take sustainable kitchen living to the next level. It has been fantastic to see so many customers in person and welcome new dealers to the fold. We have already sent out full, comprehensive details of our new product offerings for 2022-3 and have advised countless retailers about what will be the best fit with their customer base and projected growth plans. Our new brochures include exclusive downloadable content so our UK specialists can use them across devices and locations for ultimate convenience.”

Managing Director Sales and Marketing at Rotpunkt, Sven Herden says “We have flexibly adapted to changing circumstances, including the new trading landscape after Brexit and fine-tuning our operations to ensure a fully cohesive supply chain and supportive dealer network throughout the pandemic. In addition, the field sales team in the UK has continued to grow so that we are actively expanding brand awareness and outlining our point of difference – sustainability, transparency and contemporary ergonomic design for a better future.”

Market confidence is in resurgence as the property season begins and Covid restrictions are all but over. Around 90% of UK retailers have not been able to meet their customers in person over the last two years as the Government focused on protecting public health with a combination of strict lockdowns, including travel restrictions. Naturally, this impacted sales as not everything can be discussed via online channels alone and in response, the company has invested a great deal of time and substantial revenue on additional costs like administration and logistics. This manifested due to Britain’s decision to leave the EU and now, the team benefits from new systems that directly support retailers and end-users, helping them to navigate through unprecedented times. “With an ever-growing network, we are keen to upskill our UK brand partners, especially as we have significantly grown our presence in this territory despite the pandemic. Our UK leadership team stands ready to provide even more dedicated business support as demand for sustainable, modular furniture solutions continues to rise” adds Sven.

Rotpunkt, award-winning zero carbon manufacturer of German kitchen furniture has updated its popular Black Line door series with the launch of seven solid oak finishes, with the first being Real Wood Nature.

New Real Wood Nature Black Line kitchen with New York Glass fronted cabinets & drawers: showing Zerox furniture

Transforming a classic-style kitchen option into a cutting-edge urban landscape, new Real Wood Nature is a solid oak hybrid door solution by Rotpunkt, which combines real wood veneer alongside matt black zero-joint edging known as Black Line.

For added gravitas, this industrial-style kitchen concept also features the newly launched New York glass furniture: a brand new collection of glass-fronted storage by Rotpunkt, with 20mm or 50mm black framed Crittall-style door and drawer units designed with partitioned safety glass.

“By seamlessly pairing matt black design elements with timber finishes and industrial-style hardware like exposed ductwork and suspended pendent lights, you will be able to give a modern perspective on a classic wood kitchen. Real Wood Nature is made of solid wood and presents natures best imperfections with an uneven surface texture characterised by wild knots and deep wood grain” says Matt Phillips, Head of UK Operations at Rotpunkt.

This contemporary kitchen concept by Rotpunkt is interchangeable, so you can fuse your favourite 2021 innovations as you wish, just choose from:

® Real Wood Nature: a highly desirable solid oak veneer that is new for 2021/22 and one of seven new finishes available for Black Line, a matt black zero-joint edged door that offers a subtle Trompe-l’œil effect by framing the kitchen door and drawer fronts. This new real-wood finish is also available across the company’s full height one-piece doors that measure an impressive 2340mm high, seen here with the new cast iron vertical black handles that run end-to-end.

® New York Glass cabinets: embrace the charm of Crittall-style home interiors and create a kitchen that is edgy, minimalist and versatile with the addition of New York glass cabinetry. Inspired by the world’s best cityscapes and urban architecture, New York is a glass cabinet designed with either a 20mm or 50mm matt black frame and smart-ready interior lighting as standard.

The recessed wall unit combines new Real Wood Nature base units topped by a run of built-in 20mm New York glass display cabinets with matching black shelving. In continuation, the central island unit features four low level drawers in 50mm New York glass, to provide continuity and overall symmetry.

® Hanging Bin System: Waste management has never been so easy with this smooth operating, soft-close hanging bin system that is designed to live discreetly in your kitchen drawer! Now you can separate your waste and contribute to a cleaner environment with a range of 2-in-1 and 4-in-1 waste stations by Rotpunkt.
