Bellway helps Essex movers sell their home twice as quickly as regional average

Bellway’s Express Mover scheme – House buyers in Essex have been able to sell their property in half the time of the average home mover in the region thanks to Bellway.

In the first five months of 2021, buyers who purchased a new home at a development in Essex and sold their old property through Bellway’s Express Mover scheme found a buyer in an average of just 18 days.

That compares with a 43-day average across the East of England, according to Rightmove’s House Price Index for May.

Express Mover is available to buyers purchasing a brand-new home at a Bellway development. Under the scheme, the housebuilder instructs three local estate agents to carry out independent valuations of the customer’s existing home and then markets the property on the customer’s behalf. Bellway pays the agent’s fees and liaises with the agent throughout the process until a buyer is found, making the selling process easy and hassle free for the customer.

A total of 13 homes over the past six months have been purchased at developments in the county by people using the housebuilder’s scheme, with buyers achieving – on average – a selling price two per cent higher than the estate agent’s valuation.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: “Express Mover is a scheme that has performed above and beyond the rest of the resale market to deliver a quick sale on a buyer’s old home.

“We have strong connections that are long-established with agents across Essex, and we take pride in having an extensive knowledge of the area. By identifying and working with the right agents, we are able secure a quick sale for our customers.

“Express Mover also delivers good value for money. So far this year, customers using the scheme in Essex have sold their old property for an average of almost £8,000 more than its valuation. There is also the bonus that Bellway pays the agent’s fees, saving the buyer thousands of pounds.”

Bellway is currently building new homes across Essex, including at its Avondale development in Cressing and The Furlongs in Great Leighs.
