Hub South West Announced They Have Started Work on an All-Weather Multi-sport Pitch

Hub South West is a project developer that works for both public and private clients. The company has announced that they have started work on an all-weather multi-sport pitch as well as a four-track running lane that will be used for the pupils and the wider community around Kilwinning Academy.

The news has been announced as the first sod of grass was cut on the site. The new multi-purpose sports field will be developed on the site of the old blaes sports pitch which is located at the noon-denominational secondary school which is on Dalry Road. The secondary school has the capacity for 1330 pupils who will be able to benefit from the multi-sport pitch and running lanes when the development is completed.

The project is expected to cost in the region of £620,000 and the work on the sight of Kilwinning Academy is set to be finished, with the facilities opened by the 9th of October. The all weather synthetic grass pitch measuring 98m by 60m and the 80 m athletics track and 4m long jump pit alongside will also be installed with LED lighting as well as areas for the spectators and perimeter fencing.

The CEO of hub South West has said that throughout the development they will be focused on making sure that local businesses receive a boost from the work and the group has also been working with local tradespeople in order to do as much as possible for the local communities.

The project developers, hub South West is a Scottish based organisation made from a number of companies including Galliford Try, Kier, Equitix and Graham. The hub is made from a number of public sector participants and private sector partners that work together as the Alliance Community Partnerships in order to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that are cost effective and can improve community services and infrastructure projects.
